Sex education refers to the imparting of knowledge on topics such as the body, relationships, sexuality and consent. The aim is to enable people to make informed decisions about their sexuality, have healthy relationships, live their sexuality in a way that fulfils them and others and protect them from unwanted consequences. According to a holistic understanding, sex education is not limited to the school years. People of all ages can educate themselves further, for example through reading, workshops or discussions.
