Sex work

Sex work refers to the consensual offering of sexual acts in exchange for money.  In contrast to the negatively connoted term ‘prostitution’ and its dark sides (e.g. sexualised violence and forced prostitution), the term ‘sex work’ is intended to emphasise that it is gainful employment. In Germany, sex work is not a legal term and varies greatly in terms of its meaning.
